An award-winning writer and editor, Troy has worked as a journalist in Sydney for more than 20 years, spanning multiple platforms including print, digital and radio.
Print – Troy is currently the Managing Editor at Western Sydney Publishing Group, which publishes The Western Weekender newspaper in Penrith and Parra News in Parramatta. Western Sydney Publishing Group is one of the most successful independent news publishers in Australia.
He has also worked for the Blacktown City Guardian, Newcastle Post, Blue Mountains Record, Inner City Weekender, and contributed articles to a range of publications.
Digital – Troy was the founder and Managing Editor of AussieTheatre.com, Australia’s premier theatre news website. The platform, which is now under new ownership, revolutionised the way the theatre industry was covered by the media in Australia.
He was also the founder of LeagueAustralia.com and has worked as a journalist for NextGen Sports and SportsData, and coordinated and managed social media campaigns through MTM Digital.
Troy currently manages digital news operations for The Western Weekender and Parra News.
Radio – Troy has worked for a host of radio stations as a presenter and newsreader.
Most notably, Troy was on air at 2UE when the 2014 Sydney Siege reached its dramatic conclusion – broadcasting up-to-the-second updates live across the country.
He was also a regular panellist on 2UE’s Lunchtime Lowdown program and Macquarie Sports Radio.
He’s worked for Radio 2GB, 2UE, Talking Lifestyle, NOVA 969, Vintage FM and Kick FM, where he presented the drive-time program in 2007 and 2008. He currently works as a casual sports presenter at 2GB.
Troy also regularly works as an MC, voiceover artist and presenter.
In 2016, he was nominated for the prestigious Hegarty Scholarship.
In 2023, Troy was named Editor of the Year at the Mumbrella Publish Awards.
In 2024, he was named Penrith Citizen of the Year for his media and community work in western Sydney.
